It’s coming to that time again – the time where we move to a new host! Hurrah! Or something.
Big Al and I have been planning a move to a DreamHost account for a few months now – more space for less price (again). We’re also planning to move the majority of subdomains onto Wordpress MU (aka Wordpress Multi-User); essentially the experience will be the same for you, but because we’re all working from a single installation, it makes upgrading easier. We will also be installing proper Akismet spam filtering for all sub-domains (and some of you really need it!).
Dreamhost is a slightly different setup from our previous hosts, so the migration is going to be a little tricky. Please bear with us if there are any teething problems. You will probably get a strange phone call from Big Al over the weekend asking for some of the details of your account. We hope that we can perform the bulk of the migration during the weekend without any noticeable impact.
Email users will also be affected, but we will be aiming for minimal downtime.
