Went to see this last night, and was very impressed. I’ve never read the comic book, so it was probably hard to be let down in that way, but I was impressed that they managed to keep it ‘British’, and that they kept that slightly subversive feel to it. Natalie Portman’s accent wavered a little, but not so much to be distracting. The effects were good enough not to be noticable, and Hugo Weaving did a stunning job considering that he has such an expressive face, but had to wear a mask for the entirity of this film.

If it’s still on where you are, I would highly recommend a viewing.

I enjoyed it too. I’m pleased to say that I am less worried now about Britain becoming a Big Brother state than I was at the end of the film.

Sorry to just come out of the blue and write this comment, but I had to.

V for Vendetta just blew me away. Like you I hadn’t read the comic but I felt as though it was an accurate depiction of what could happen to our (not so) fair society. The conformity police are out there and they’re trying man!! Oh they’re trying, but they’re not there just yet.

I thought that Hugo Weaving acted his socks off, extremely difficult behind a mask, but he pulled it off and of course nothing bad can be said about Natalie, with or without hair. In all it rocked!! 5 stars! Well done Wachowski bros!
