I spent some of today reading the rather tragic story of Jason Mewes’ (aka Jay) drug addiction problems, through the eyes of Kevin Smith (aka Silent Bob) on My Boring Ass Life. It’s a wonderfully told story, but really heart breaking in places. It’s definitely worth a read.

/me makes mental note to watch Clerks and Mallrats before Clerks 2 hits the screens.

Oh - and Kevin Smith runs Wordpress \o/

Thanks for pointing the link out Mrb. I knew a little bit of the story, but in reading it in full, it kinda shows what true friends will do for each other, quite a humbling read.

Kev is the man and I am looking forward to Clerks II.

If you get a chance I recommend seeing “An Evening with Kevin Smith” if you have not already

The story about Jason Mewes by Kevin Smith sure blows holes in the conventional wisdom that drug abusers’ lack of common sense is the cause of their addiction. With his screwed-up childhood, it’s very easy to understand how Jason got involved in drugs at such an early age.

Alcohol abuse, alcoholism, and drug abuse are major social problems not only in our country but in most, if not all, developed countries in the world. The Jason Menes story should be required reading for anyone who is converned about, opposed to, or involved with drugs and/or alcohol abuse.
