Almost didn’t get a post in today!
I’m about a week into my new Ubuntu install, and so far things have been really peachy. Given that I was previously running Debian Unstable, upon which Ubuntu is based, it’s amazing the amount of extra polish that is there. Plus, I’ve saved myself a huge amount of space by cutting down my install to the bare minimum of what I use. This will probably change over time, but for now everything is nice and sleek.
I am hoping to check out a new app soon too - Jahshaka looks like a really nice video editing tool. Just a shame they don’t have a full Ubuntu installer yet - but they should do by the time v2.0 comes out, which will be good.
The other thing that is giving me grief is that Jokosher was recently ported to use GStreamer 0.10, which isn’t in this version of Ubuntu (Breezy Badger), and I can’t decide whether or not to upgrade to the next version, Dapper Drake, before it is properly released, especially now the release date has been put back by six weeks
Decisions, decisions.
Anyway - hopefully something more entertaining to write tomorrow.
