Sometimes it takes a day working from home to really get things done. Being at home gives me the advantage of being able to do all the lengthy, boring admin tasks on my own computer, while still working on ‘real’ work, although this was seriously hindered today by PlusNet keeping my ‘net connection down for >4 hours. Grrrrr.
Today I decided that it was finally time that I bit the bullet, and set up the move to Ubuntu. The first (and possibly lengthiest) task was to move all of my emails from the local server I have been running to the PlusNet IMAP mail server. That done, I set about backing up a chunk of my /home directory. Lastly, I burnt a copy of Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy Badger) ready for the install.
This will be my first distro change since I moved from Slackware to Debian back in the dim and distant past (somewhere around 2002/2003 IIRC).
