OK – it’s time for a formal announcement for those who haven’t yet read the comments from this post. The BDP (Big Damn Party – a reference to Firefly) is slated to be on Saturday 4th March. There will be a viewing of the entire TV Series and the film (Serenity) – which is going to be about 13 hours of high-quality viewing. The plan is to start at around 10am, which will leave plenty of time to get everything in.
The wearing of costumes is allowed, but not mandatory; if you are new to the series, but like dressing up, then contact me and I can give you some help as to what you would need to wear 
The plan is to have available food & drink throughout the day, hopefully even some of the offerings from the official cookbook. Although we probably won’t attempt the Firefly drinking game to early on….
For those not yet aware of Firefly, I am in the process of writing a ‘Moosers guide to Firefly, which should hopefully be online within the next 24-48 hours, but there is a load of info already online. Or, of course, you could just buy it and see for yourself. (CD-WOW now have the complete series for £15.99 including VAT and delivery!). If you’re impatient, then hopefully the following excerpt from my upcoming guide will whet your appetite:

I’ve sussed the chords for both – the “theme” version of the Ballad of Serenity is harder ‘cos it’s in C which make some of the chords horrible – the Joss Whedon version is in D iirc (need to watch the bonus footage again).
I’ll post it to my site tomorrow when I’ve worked it out and written it down.
And I’ll bring a guitar, too.
