Well, after my previous post about networking decisions for the new house, and with only 4 days to go until we move, I finally decided on buying a Linksys combination ADSL Modem/Switch/Wifi AP/Firewall box, mainly for size reasons.
But there are more decisions to be made. I’ve been thinking for a while that I ought to replace my now aging Creative Nomad MuVo MP3 player. It’s been a trusty player and storage device, and holds its own, but 64MB is a little miserly. And it doesn’t play .ogg files, which is something I would really like. And so it has come down to a decision between the iBead, as recommended by davee, or the equally impressive iAudio, recommended by Kat and Dave. They are reasonably feature-similar – main difference being that the iBead has an integral battery (recharged via USB) whereas the iAudio takes a single AA battery.
At the moment I am quite undecided – the iBead looks nicer from what I’ve seen, but the idea of being able to take spare batteries with me is quite nice. But then, how far from a USB port am I ever? But what if the internal battery dies completely? Arrgh.
Helpful comments welcomed

FWIW I’ve owned two I-beads with the internal batteries and never had a problem … but then again, you know I favour this one anyway
I’m considering the iAudio – 50hrs a battery appeals to me. And I like the formfactor/screen.
And let’s face it – when travelling/away from home you’re more likely to find an AA battery than a USB port you can “borrow” for several hours.

What is this Travelling Away From Home of which you speak??
