It could only happen to me…

Yesterday afternoon the church was running a fun day to raise money to send some kids to SU camp (or something). After helping with the setup it was down to Alan (Da Pasta) and myself to run the Giant Inflatable Slide for the everlasting delight of the kiddies.

All went well and it seems that the event was quite the success. Certainly we seem to have made upwards of £500.

Very cool. :)

Anyway, at the end of the event people were going on for free (it WAS at the end and we had made all the money we were going to get) and so the two Al’s decided to join in the fun.

On my second attempt, and I don’t EXACTLY remember how this happened, I reached the bottom of the slide quite abruptly and the back of my head made sharp contact with the ground underneath.

After the ringing in my ears died away I helped with taking stuff down.

It was then that I thought that a wee trip to A&E might be the order of the day after I realised that my jaw, which I had noticed wasn’t sitting well within my skull, hadn’t resumed it’s original comfortable position.

After a few hours in A&E with Da Pasta as my erstwhile waiting room companion, I was told (after the compulsory X-ray) that my jaw wasn’t broken/fractured/dislocated and that it would eventually settle down into it’s previously comfy position.

All good.

It’s a shame that even with the liberal doses of Ibuprofen it’s still sore as hell, incredibly uncomfortable and practically impossible to eat with.

Looks like it the liquid diet for me. ;)

    Cheers, Cheezy.

It still hurts and my jaw has settled a bit more today. I can close it properly and even chew!
