Here comes the rain

Thursday, June 2nd, 2005

Is it summer yet? Any one seen the sun recently?

I don’t know where you’ll be reading this from but over here, in sunny Scotland, it’s grim, gray, overcast and (mostly) pissing it down. And it’s cold as well. :(

It does nothing to improve my already bad mood (I’m at work and the mood I’ve chosen for today is mean and surly).

Flat hunting – progress report

Thursday, June 2nd, 2005

We have found a flat in Partick which we like. So some forms are in with the letting agency and the reservation fee has been paid.

All we’re waiting for is for them to check us out and give us the all clear. I reckon that we’ll boxing stuff up from this weekend.

It’s all go in the Bain Household. :)

Lego ships off the starboard bow

Thursday, June 2nd, 2005

Check out www.zemi.net.

Inspiration or what?

Building a space fleet out of Lego is now on the “things I must do before I die” list.

Actually, it may be the ONLY thing on the list…

Women gamers? Madness…

Thursday, June 2nd, 2005

Yesterday, after dropping off some forms at Newton letting agency, I nipped into Games Workshop. It’s not the kind of place I go anymore as my Warhammer habit had died off long ago.

But I like to believe that one day I’ll have the drive to buy some more figures and break out the paints. I know it’s sad but I’m a geek after all.

But what impressed me was, as I checked out some of the new models and books, a woman was standing next to me showing the same level of interest! And she wasn’t a troll! Unbelievable.

It’s good to see women getting into any form of geekiness, and it warmed my heart.

Even though I realise that she’s probably buying stuff for her sad boyfriend/husband…
