Okay guys, you’ll have to trust me on this.
Tongen Ninja may well be the greatest martial arts film ever.
Whoo. That’s quite the boast. And If you call me on it I’d have to admit that it’s maybe not the GREATEST but it’s definatly in the top ten. It’s in the same vein as Bad Taste production wise and if you’ve never heard of that landmark film, it’s the first movie by Peter “Lord of the Rings” Jackson.
Tongen Ninja is a really low budget New Zealand film about this guy, Tongen Ninja, who is sent to save a restaurant from the evil ways of Mr Big and his So-Called Syndicate. He is matched up aginst the evil forces of Knife Man, Gun Man, Chef Guy and his arch-nemesis Action Fighter. Dispite what you might think this film was surprisingly good with a quality blend of cheesy acting, cheesy dialogue and cheesy fighting.
And as an added bonus the film is dubbed into English from… English.
Come on. It can’t be a quality martial arts film without the out of synch speech?
Can’t it?
